While in North Carolina

While in North Carolina, we took two days to explore Raleigh with the family. On the first day, we went to the State Farmers Market, and the Museum of Natural Science and ended the day at Bearded Bee Brewing Co.

Our first day was fun but the second day exploring Raleigh was more entertaining. First, we went to the Historic Yates Mill County Park we explored the park and then took a very informative tour about how the mill operated back then. This mill is one of many they had before in the area.

The Historic Yates Mill is an operable grain mill established around 1756. The equipment in the mill is original, left after the Lea family ceased, milling operations in the mid-1950s, now they offer tours and demonstrations.

After leaving the mill we were craving BBQ, we ended up at Sam Jones BBQ, it was pretty good. After we had ice cream at Howling Cow Dairy Education Center and Creamery. Well, I did not take any pictures of us enjoying the deliciousness… But I did take pictures of the cows. Also did some abstract images with them.

Check out the video.

The next day we left North Carolina and headed to Colonial Beach in Virginia. There we encounter the first hiccup of our trip. Stay tuned for the next episode of our four-month trip to the northeast.
