St. Lucia, First Mission Trip

At the beginning of the year my daughter told me her desire of participating this year in a mission trip with the youth of our church. After that, we start asking for donations, we open an account with GoFundMe, I used all my social media connections ( including my blog) to acknowledge every one of my contacts about my daughter’s mission trip. I wanted it to find sponsors for her. I couldn’t afford the expenses on my own, but I did everything in my power to support her, not only because I love her and I love traveling but more because the cause behind this kind of traveling have a major meaning. This kind of traveling is a service to others in need, is a trip to be humble, it’s an eye-opening experience, is to spread good news and hope.

I am so thankful for those that helped us that I want to share a little bit of what she and her group did in St Lucia. Listen to my daughter speak of her experience is the most rewarding feelings, it moves my heart in indescribable ways.   I can’t write you about something that I didn’t experience myself, so I gather few pictures of what they share with me and made a video of their process starting a little bit before they left.  The pictures and little video before they left are mine, the other pics are not mine own. She came back of her trip wanting to change the world! Definitely it was an experience that help the youth see the world in a different way.

Also further down is another video that one of the missionaries did. I hope you enjoy this and be happy that we still have young people who are willing to give their heart for good causes, like missions.

Learn A Little Bit More About My Daughter’s Mission Trip

Why?

In the past months I been asking for donations for my daugter’s mission trip that will happen in July of this year. Thanks God we are very close to the goal of $1500. I know we will meet the amount, I am very thankful for all those that believe in this kind of programs that enrich young people lives as well a community in need.

My daughter is a 15-year-old normal teenager, that wants to serve God and help people in need. We are lucky enough or I should say bless to have a very active youth in our church. Every summer they go to different countries to serve, help and spread the word of God. This year wasn’t any different, just for me as a mom. My daughter wanted to be part of this and now I realize how important is this, not only for the community that will get help but also is important and beneficial for all those young people. This experience will change their lives, they will learn to be more thankful, more compassionate, better human beings. They will understand the need of other, this society where we are living needs young people who care, young people who learn to change this world with act of kindness. There is too much evil in this society, we have so many young people walking in the wrong direction, selfish, self-destructive, hard-hearted. That is why sending this kids to different places to spread hope, give to others, is a win-win situation. Its beneficial in all possible ways.

That is why I support her in this journey, that is why I ask you to help me. It is incredible to think that if everybody that I know and everybody that has access to my social medias (around 9 thousand people) helped with $1.oo dollar each, we would have been able to raise money for her and sponsor like 6 to 7 kids… Oh well maybe for next year? 🙂

But if you want to help we still have some time, there is two groups leaving on June and two other groups leaving in July

Traveling for a Good Cause

20140318-212704.jpg

Traveling is one of my top priorities right now in my life . There are various reason of why I want to travel, some are kind of selfish, but one of the biggest reason is to share and inspire others. When I hear other people’s travel stories, I get so inspire that sometimes I feel like leaving everything behind and run to meet the world. I am definitely, so ready to encounter other cultures and enriched my live with “newstories” to tell. One of my dreams of finding “newstories” is for me to write about this stories in a form of a script to present them in the theater… is one of the things do 🙂

My daughter Jadzia is only 15 years old and she is dreaming of her first travel by herself. The difference of her traveling dream is that doesn’t have any selfishness on it.  My daughter wants to serve other people in need. She didn’t care where. The youth from our church goes every year to missions to serve other countries in need. For years they had gone to Mexico, Costa Rica, Haiti to mention some places.  This year they have 4 groups of young people, going to 4 different places. Mexico, Peru, Guyana and St. Lucia, the last 3 are new places that our youth are going to visit for the first time this year. My daughter, Jadzia was assign to go to St. Lucia.

This could be an experience that could change her life for ever. While tourist will be seen the good side of St. Lucia, she will be helping people and comunities in need. St. Lucia is a very touristic place, and that’s what people knows about this little island. Most of us don’t know the other side of the story about this beautiful eastern Caribbean Island. There is a lot of need, there is poverty and that is where this group of young teenagers are going to be working on.

If you want to be part of this incredible opportunity, you can help my daughter fund her trip by cliking the link below.  Also you can read her letter and see what she has to say. Traveling will have a whole diffrent meaning this time, I am pretty sure that many “newstories” will come out after this trip. Help her make a diffrence in this contry of St. Lucia.

Thank you so much!
