Learn to appreciate other cultures is one of the greatest accomplishments of travel. Seeing our diversity of thinking, worshiping deities, how we classify priorities are some of the amazing things that you are expose when you travel. But more fascinating is to know that even though of all those differences at the end of the line we are all humans. We all have similar needs of having a purpose in life, of procreate and love.
It was my first time in Asia, and I have to be honest the culture impact to me was shocking. Still I enjoyed and embraced the differences. We went to visit the big Buddha in Lantau Island. It’s impressive what people can do to exalt what they think is divine. I never seen a deity monument so big.
Even though I don’t share the same religious believes that here in Hong Kong, I enjoyed learning about their culture and faith. This monument is huge and impressive, but the God I choose to believe and embrace, is too big and powerful to be able to reduce Him in a monument, but is amazingly detail oriented to live in my heart (this is just my opinion and my faith) 😉
