The Possible Week At TPI Extravaganza

Last week it was TPI Extravaganza, a week full of training and motivation for travel agents. What that means is that our host agency Travel Planner International put together the best activities, conference and classes for us. Any person working on its own business needs to find motivation for the everyday life “impossibilities” that running a business can bring. The subject of the week was Mission Possible! So I am sure you know, that if you are new in the business the “impossibilities” that we mention earlier are even bigger. I am not only new in the business but also I have a full-time job that deprive me of time to work on my travel agent dream job.

Thanks God for this past week Mission Possible theme! It took me out of my routine, of my obstacles, of my stress and put me back on track. I know, it not only help me, that I am a rookie but it refocus those that are veterans in the matter too.

It was so good to relate with other people who are as passionate as me and with a lot more experience. I was like a sponge with a filter, absorbing all the good stuff. I met on the last night  a super nice lady , Lourie Gibbons she has been on the industry for 17 years. We talked, sat together, ate, rode the Everest together and while the night passed I stored in by bag some tips of her experiences and knowledge. I also met Mary Scanlin from Texas. She was energetic, retired and full of life. She gave great tips for marketing, branding and more. Another young lady that I met was Destiny Young, she was there with her mom and dad. There are all travel agents working as sub agents of her mom, including her. It is awesome that the whole family is involved in the business but at the same time there are all independents. I could keep mention some great people that during the week at some point or another interacted with me leaving a mark of their experiences imprinted in me.

Beside the training and classes they also treat us like royalty! We ate so much good food like if we were in a luxury cruise! We got, food for our body and for our brain with all the talented speakers and suppliers.

We ended the week with our farewell party at Animal Kingdom, and if we were not yet spoil enough, then that night it did it. They had an exclusive Lion King show for us after the park closed and we were able to ride The Everest ride all night long! How cool is that?

What an awesome week! Now time to work and make everything possible!

Thank you TPI!

Until then,

I Am Part Of Their Travel Stories

In my new journey as a Travel Consultant and a new homeowner as well, I haven‘t had the time to travel this year. The majority of my time I been training and learning with the hope that becoming an expert will help me be a better travel counselor. Finally in the last few months I was able to work with some people who were needing my services (customers :D).

I notice that one of the most difficult part of this job is not the learning process. The most difficult part is finding customers that want the help of an expert. Customers that are tired of searching on their own, through the thousands of options that the web can give you for a “perfect vacation”. We know that there are customers like that are out there somewhere,we travel agents just have to find them. Unfotunatly people have forgotten the advantage of working with a travel counselor. We have access to much more options and specific information depending of what the individual needs.

Just to mention a few…
During this process I find out that helping other people with their travel planning is very exciting. It is so much thrill as when I am planning my own. It’s amazing to think that I am part of their travel stories. So, I am not only writing my own travel stories now, but others too! It’s been like a box of chocolate, like a puzzle, like an adventure for me to work on my customers vacations. I feel like wanting to pack my bags and leave with them too!

Now I am in the stage of waiting that they come back from their vacation to enjoy the feed back of their stories. Who knows, they might allow me to share part of their travel stories here on my blog!

As for me…right now this week I will be taking more trainings and ships inspections through my host agency. That means this week is TPI Extravaganza! I will be sharing my experiences soon. Next month I will be going to Jamaica(yeiiii!). I will be visiting Sandals Ochi Rios for 4 nights! Believe me, I will be telling you all about how worth is traveling to this paradise dream place. (I have a feeling it is 100% worth it :D)

On the first week of December I will be going to Cancun, we’ll stay at the Moon Palace Hotel. On this trip I will be learning more about Mexico as a wedding destination.

So I will be having some travel stories of my own after all. If you are in need of a travel counselor to help you create your own travel stories, don’t forget that I will be more than happy to help you create beautiful memories.

Until then…
