I found the little video that I took of the sea-gulls having fun around the cruise while we were leaving the coast of Lisbon. I thought of sharing it with you, because I mention the “air show” on my last post. I know that you can see sea-gulls in every coast and lately you can even found them in land. But there are interesting to me, I like to observe them. They are very intelligent birds, very opportunist too. Anyways this was quite a show that did not happened in any other port that we visited on this cruise trip. So here it is…
This is our second time visiting beautiful Lisbon. But this time we are part of a cruise tour, even our time is short in town we were able to meet another side of Lisbon. This time, limited by the structure of a tour, we explore the country side of this coastal town. After passing through the 25 Abril bridge and leaving behind the terra-cotta site we made our way to the town of Azeitao around 30 minutes away from Lisbon where Jose Maria da Fonseca winery is located.
Working since 1834 and with over 7 generations of experience Jose Maria da Fonseca is one of the most famous and prestigious winery in Portugal. The most amazing thing about this fact is that we were able to see with our own eyes and taste for ourselves this gem of Lisbon.
From the outside, the place looks small but once inside is like going to another dimension of beauty and time… take a look with me.
We learn here about the Moscate de Setúbal wine very similar of the wines from Porto. Like I said, similar to Porto, Moscatel de Setúbal are wood aged until they are bottled, also brandy is added for that unique flavor.
Here is a short video of our trip to the winery, if gives you a little insight of what we did and saw. To bad I can’t add a wine taste for you… If you like sweet on your wine, then Moscatel de Setúbal is a great option for you!
