Taste Local Beers in the Sunshine State

With Your Furry Best Friend

Dreamy Cold Beer Day

This would be the ideal way of enjoying a cold beer with your furry friend in the hot weather of the sunshine state.

But this is too good to be truth unless you are in a private beach and where dogs are allowed.

Don’t worry I have the solution for you, lets look at five different microbreweries in Florida where you can enjoy a cold local Florida beer with your family and friends including your four legged family members.

Lets start on the East coast, after been on the beach all day you can stop and hop to New Smyrna Beach Brewing Company to drink something refreshing. The outdoor area is small but you can sit with your doggy friend, and there is no food just beers.

Another East coast brewery that you can visit after a beach day, but this time on the souther area of the state is Funky Buddha Brewery.

Here there is plenty of space inside and out to enjoy food and beer.

If you want to feel some fast energy going by while enjoying the night you can seat outside and see the train pass by.

Drink your beer as fast as the train passes, then you will be ready for another one.

What about if you are in the West coast? No worries I have a suggestion for you, if you are in the St. Petersburg area you can stop by Pinellas Ale Works (PAW).

Yappy Hour!

In the outdoor patio you can enjoy live music and food, they have a permanent food truck and also they do other types of activities like fundraising and art sales.

Changing scenarios, in the central part of the state in the small beautiful town of Clermont there is this very active and popular brewery between the locals, Suncreek Brewery.

The Lakefront is at walking distance from the brewery, people like to go for a walk or do some exercise then they stop by to grab something to eat and a beer.

There is a lot of coming and going in the afternoons here at Suncreek Brewery.

We are ending our list with one of our favorite breweries in Central Florida, Crooked Can located in Winter Garden.

After a nice stroll through Plant St. or after riding your bike through the biking trail that crosses the area, you can stop by this busy brewery.

This list is not even the beginning, there are over 300 craft beer breweries in Florida, not all are pet friendly but still a lot more than we can cover in this tiny list.

Looking for Dry Trees at Lovers Key State Park

Can you see the osprey on the top right corner?

Some close ups of the osprey on the top right corner of the first image. This is in Lovers Key State Park, I was looking for dry trees to photograph. These particular trees have been affected by erosion, the are dry and bleached by the sun. Eventually they will become drift wood. Both stages of the tree, dry, bleached but attached to the sand still and the driftwood that it will become later once the waves will detach the tree from the sand are beautiful natural art made by nature.

The Ocean is Calling

I am doing a series of images that represent erosion for a project.

Lonely Tree

This image was taken by the road on the Florida Keys, somewhere between Marathon and Key West. When I saw this particular dry tree, I thought it was a great representation of the erosion process. If you notice, parts of its roots are already exposed. With the come and go of the waves at some point this three will be part of the ocean becoming driftwood and will navigate somewhere else.

Sexy Tree

This image was taken on the same place and same time as the first one, but different subject. On this image we can also see the process of erosion but this particular tree still alive. It still have green leaves and strong roots on the ground from the side that I took the picture. We can see in front of the tree a piece of another tree that is already dead. The ground around the tree is wet and full of dead sea weed, this is a sign of how the water comes and go with the tides and always take away some of the ground leaving the roots exposed with the time. I also wanted to take a more close up look at part of the beautiful shape and texture of this tree.

Frame Cove

This last image was taken in Long Key State Park. Looking for variety and a different perspective in this picture I took another approach. One of the things to prevent or help with erosion is with rocks and you can see this technique along the keys in some areas. In this image we can see a more wider view of the landscape. I used a dry branch to frame the cove. Still you can see in the foreground the rocks (like shields) in from of some trees, then continuing the shore line you can see some other trees that looks like giant spiders crawling slowly to the beach. Eventually they might end up in the water sometime in the future.
